MIAMS

Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting

Book your MIAM with us from £100 fee. This is a 45 to 60 minute session and includes the signing of any court forms if necessary.

Whether you wish to try and reach a resolution through mediation, or if you wish to take the matter to court, then your first step is to attend a Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM).

This meeting allows you the opportunity to discuss with one of our qualified mediators the issues that you are facing and any concerns that you may have. The mediator will be able to explain to you how mediation works and whether they think mediation would be suitable in your case.

Family mediation is a voluntary process that gives families and couples experiencing conflict the opportunity to reach resolution outside of court. This can relate to issues surrounding separation and divorce including child arrangements, parenting, property and finance.

In your MIAM, with the help of the mediator, you can determine whether this is the right process for you. If it is decided that mediation is not suitable, your mediator can sign the relevant court form if you wish to raise a court action. Court forms include Form C100 for child arrangements or Form A for a financial application to the court.
